Weekend of Running

Well, the race calendar was full this weekend with a number of our members active in four local races.

Rhyl 10m

The first of the four was on Saturday, it was the Rhyl 10m, organised by Run Wales. This race starts and finishes by the Aquarium and heads out along the seafront to Pontins in Prestatyn before turning near the Golf Club and heading back the same way. Out of the 491 runners who took part, there were 7 representing Buckley Runners. The results are as follows:

Ruthin 5\10k

Next up, on Sunday morning the Ruthin 5k and 10k races, organised by Bespoke Fitness. This route starts in and run’s around the lanes outside Ruthin before finishing at the Sports centre. Nobody entered the 5k, but 4 members were in the 10k out of 201. Worth calling out is the brilliant result from our men’s captain, who came 2nd overall. The results are as follows:

Sheeptracks Fell Race

Next up was the Sheeptracks Fell Race, this is a new race. It starts and finishes in Cilcain, before taking a 17mile route across the Clywidians, not only a mammoth task but in the conditions yesterday, it must have been hell. There were 6 club members from 73 runners overall. The results are as follows, with Buckley also taking the 1st place Team prize:

Village Bakery Half Marathon

Finally the Village bakery Half Marathon, a very popular local race that takes in the sights of Wrexham Industrial Estate. 28 Buckley Runners from a total of 1876 runners took part.
