Wednesday saw 8 Buckley Runners racing up, around and down Foel Fenlli in the Druid race. Sam Bellis was 3rd, Jez Brown 4th, Gerard Coleman 6th, Pete Gray 16, Stu Thomas 28th, Steve Bellis 35th, Caroline Caffrey 59th, John Morris 68th.
There was a huge turnout of Buckley Runners for the second Deestriders multi terrain race on Thursday. Sean Truett was 4th, Andy Peers 7th, Jeff Gifford 12th, Eric Campbell 13th, Stu Thomas 25th (2nd race in two evenings!), Charles Barton 30th, Eleanor Francis 35th, Fenella Higgins 41st, Paul Dodd 52nd, Paul Davies 56th, Craig Hunter 58th, Evelyn Aindow 63rd, Les Coathup 68th, Jessica Dodd 72nd, Sue Ridings 74th, Zakia Ahamada 76th, Trudi Parry 77th, Irene Blount 80th, Tracie Dodd 85th, Nicole Van den Wittenboer 88th.
Just two Buckley Runners in the Snowdonia hills in the Tal y Fan race on Saturday, Jez Brown 3rd, and Caroline Caffery. The race was the regional counter for the Welsh Athletics fell championships for this year, with Caroline picking up gold for v40 and Jez for v50.
Effort of the weekend must go to Dave Boothroyd though who raced at the 100k Race to the Stones race on Saturday.
Sunday saw a strong showing of female Buckley Runners at the Wilmslow 10k with Tracy Rogers 6th, Jennifer Rambaldi 27th and Jane Doughton 30th (3rd v45). Pete Gray also ran, and was 199th overall.
Back in Snowdonia on Sunday, well done to Amanda Boyd -Edwards who raced at the tough Snowdonia trail marathon, and Jason Dwan who did the half marathon.
Steve Toogood was 2nd v60 in Sunday’s Pen y Fan race in South Wales.
